Hello! I'm Krystal Depew and I'm from Marquette Heights, Illinois, which is located in Central Illinois. As a small child, I was always conscious of a birthmark on my chin. It is silly and small but to a young girl it is bigger than a mountain! So, when I turned 10, my mom took me to a makeup counter and we purchased Dermablend®, a thick water-proof concealer. It was the best day of my childhood. Ever since then I have been wearing and experimenting with makeup. At 19 I found my soulmate, Rob, we married, started careers, and we created an amazing son, London, who is now 23-year-old. Unfortunately, Rob passed away in May 2021.

After a 21-year career in corporate administration I retired early to have more time with my father who became severely ill in 2008. I was later approached by a local not-for-profit organization to do some volunteer event coordination work in 2013. In September 2013, I decided to also volunteer as a makeup artist in their haunted attraction. I became a self-taught special effects artist and I was hooked! After a year I became a Co-Lead Department Head and Key Artist with a dear friend Michelle Hollan, MUA. Our shared skills grew a state-of-the-art Makeup Lab. This lab I have no doubt is the largest in down-state Illinois!
In the meantime, I decided to attend an accredited makeup school called QC Makeup Academy from 2015-2016 and began offering professional beauty/bridal makeup, as well as, special effects.
Now, I'm offering all my services in my in-home Makeup studio. I also started traveling to do makeup artistry for the Film & TV Industry and began working for em.bel.lish hair design & day spa in Morton, Illinois. Outside of doing makeup I am an ambassador and part-time model. I also started writing a tip book for Acne.
I offer many services and excellent care for my clients. Each and every client is special to me and dear to my heart. This journey has brought me so much happiness and joy. I am thankful for the gifts and opportunities that have come my way.
Every day I continue to grow and will always continue furthering my education in the artistry of makeup. My art is Makeup!
